God Doesn't Get Fed Up

By Natalie Grillo
Former Coordinator of Development and Alumni Relations
He will never grow weary of your coming to Him.

Kingdom Building Ministries -

The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom (Isaiah 40:28).

I didn't have the easiest childhood. I grew up in an unstable home...my mother was mentally ill and my parents fought often. There were even times whem my sister and I lived in group homes or with foster parents.

There were so many times when things were just so crazy in my house that all I could do was cry, literally weep, before God, asking Him to deliver me from the turmoil I was living in.

One specific time, I was sobbing on my bed, telling God that I was just so sick and tired of living in the family that I lived in, that I was afraid to go home to see them (I was in college at the time), that no one could possibly understand all that I was struggling with and that I was sorry to keep coming to Him with the same feelings and struggles.

In the midst of my weeping, the Lord gave me a passage of scripture that completely spoke to my hurts, feelings and fears. He had heard my crying out to Him and He had answered me. He told me that I would have nothing to be afraid of when I went home (Isaiah 54:14). He understood my pain, my hurt, my struggles. And though I had come to Him over and over again with the same hurts throughout my childhood, He never became weary of my cries.

Although scripture backs it up, it's still something I can barely comprehend...first of all, He completely understands all I'm going through and all my feelings all of the time; secondly, He never gets tired of my coming back to Him over and over again with those same problems and struggles. He's never impatient with me. He never thinks, "Darn it, why can't she just get it this time? Do I really have to show her that I love her, one more time? Will she ever realize that I'm sick of hearing her worry about this, cry about that, or struggle with this other thing?"

He never thinks those things because He never feels those things. He never grows tired or weary. His understanding no one can fathom. We often think God is like us...that He gets impatient when we don't understand something or don't do something right. But, just like scripture says, He never grows tired or weary. He never grows tired or weary. He never grows tired or weary.

Whatever you're struggling with today, remember that the Lord fully understands you and what you're going through...and He will never grow weary of your coming to Him.
